ABOUT US
My father George Smith and I purchased this almost 16 acre farm together in 1993. It was named "Double S Farm". We converted it to a horse farm, replacing all of the barbed wire fencing to horse safe fencing and constructed a en stall barn with covered she'd row circling the entire barn. We built this farm to raise thoroughbred race horses Which wep sent to my uncle,Dean Smith, in Illinois, to train and race after the initial foundation training and fitting. In 1998, my father passed away. The dircdirec then became focused on breeding for the commercial sales market. The farm was nenamed, "Hunting Hawk Farm". On a limited budget wewe able to produce two stakes horses.
With some of our mares retiring from the races, we crossed them with APHA horses to produce two top five APHA Hunt Seat world show horses in 2005.
Due to health issues, I was forced to step away from the breeding industry. However, I continued to care for my riding horses. In 2012 I purchased several thoroughbTho mares to get back to my love of breeding racehorse prospects. With the Thoroughbred commercial market becoming a market of profitability only in the upper end, I have once again refocused breeding these quality mares for the Barrel Racing Industry. Along with this change I am also breeding quarter horses for the versatile cowhorse ranch market. These horses are exceptionally athletic individuals with calm minded temperments.
